A Candied Magazine in the future? Maybe!

This year the Purple Candied blog is going to have more of a magazine look.  I will be posting fashion, food, art, and music designed and inspired by some of my favorite magazines.

What you're saying is, if it's not gold or silver, it's not glamorous?

I started painting jewelry because I wanted to try something different.  Everyone loves the shiny gold and silver jewelry because it is classic and it is what has always been done.  I started to doubt my talent a couple years back because I thought people just were not interested in wood jewelry.  It wasn't shiny and sparkly but it was dopeness.  Later on I came to the conclusion that everyone is not going to like everything.  While there are some people who only wear gold, silver, and pearls, there are others who prefer to be totally different and make a statement.  Every day I am reminded that my talent was truly a gift from GOD and I have to honor it.  I am blessed to  have a vision and that I can see it daily, hourly, monthly, and yearly.  This is truly the first year that I am giving my vision 128%!!!!!  I figured if I can go to work for someone Else's vision and give them 100%, I should be able to do that and more for my own.  At the end, I don't want to be like every designer just because they are making more money.  I want to create a name for myself in this industry and earn respect for my originality.

Bath Bombs Away!!!!

Ok, I am in love with Bath Bombs!  There are so many different scents and flavors that I had to actually share with everyone.  I also have found a new love for soap that looks and smells like candy or just anything sweet!  Maybe instead of me eating all of the sugar I'll just bathe in it!  What woman doesnt want to smell like sweet!  Now is also the perfect time for sweet smelling soaps and lotions because if you try sweet smells in the Spring, the bees will definitely love you. :-)

Mixed Media Creations

So I have been wanting to create mixed media art for a while and I finally started.  The thing about creating mixed media art is almost every element you see was cut and pasted to fit perfectly.  Polyvore helped me find my inspiration.  Here are my 1st creations with more to come.

POLYVORE SUCCESS!!

I became a member of Polyvore only 18 days ago only to find out my "Button Earrings" are SUPER popular!  If you are not familiar with Polyvore it is a website where people use items you post such as fashion, art, furniture, etc.  What these people do with the items is make collages out of them.  Now, since I became a member the "Button Earrings", "Embellished Picture Frames", and the "Champagne and Orange Earrings" have been used in 66 sets by 66 different people.  This is an AWESOME way to get any product noticed, hands down.  I am not going to post all 66 collage sets but here is the link and you can see for yourself!  Each photo in the collage collection features 1 or 2 of my products!  Even when you don't think some(1) will LIKE it, there are 100's of people who will LOVE it!  Enjoy :-)
