What you're saying is, if it's not gold or silver, it's not glamorous?
I started painting jewelry because I wanted to try something different. Everyone loves the shiny gold and silver jewelry because it is classic and it is what has always been done. I started to doubt my talent a couple years back because I thought people just were not interested in wood jewelry. It wasn't shiny and sparkly but it was dopeness. Later on I came to the conclusion that everyone is not going to like everything. While there are some people who only wear gold, silver, and pearls, there are others who prefer to be totally different and make a statement. Every day I am reminded that my talent was truly a gift from GOD and I have to honor it. I am blessed to have a vision and that I can see it daily, hourly, monthly, and yearly. This is truly the first year that I am giving my vision 128%!!!!! I figured if I can go to work for someone Else's vision and give them 100%, I should be able to do that and more for my own. At the end, I don't want to be like every designer just because they are making more money. I want to create a name for myself in this industry and earn respect for my originality.

Spring on the Fashion!
Since SHOE WARS was such a hit, let's keep the fun going! Purple Candied is looking for the hottest Spring/Summer 2011 designer pieces and this time there is a Simon mall gift card up for grabs! Post your favorite pieces on the Purple Candied wall during the month of April to find out if your style is the most liked by the people! At the end of the month the Spring on the Fashion awards will be held to determine who posted the hottest trends. If you are a designer, post your original items or if you are just a fashion lover post anything from Nail colors to T-Shirts! The winner will be announced on May 1, 2011.

SHOE WARS anyone?
Starting March 11, 2011 Purple Candied will hold a shoe war event. If you feel that you can bring the hottest or the craziest shoe style, post your shoes on the Purple Candied facebook wall and let the people vote! Post your flats, pumps, boots, or sandals and the user with the most votes will be the winner! The winner will be announced the following Saturday and will receive their gift card of choice from: Macys, Target, Forever 21, Best Buy, or H&M. Who will be the ultimate shoe war queen?
Rules:
- All shoe styles must have the designer name, the year the shoe was released and the participant name in the caption field
- All shoes styles must be posted on the facebook wall between the hours of 12:00a.m-11:59 p.m. (eastern time) the day of the war
- All shoe styles must have professional studio pictures. Camera phone, Polaroid pictures or low quality photos will not be allowed.
- Participants will not be allowed to post duplicate shoe styles each week. If the same shoe style is submitted for the same war by different participants, the 1st users post will be honored.
- Participants can post as many styles as they wish the day of the war. The more shoes the happier!
- Athletic shoes will not be accepted.
- Bring your “A” shoe game and HAVE FUN!!!
